Pet and home care in North Asheville

Trust is everything when it comes to your pet, and your home.
Leaving your beloveds at home isn't easy, but I try to make it just a little easier.
With over 20 years of experience caring for parrots, dogs and various other kinds of animals, I have cultivated a strong intuitive sense of their behavior, body language and how they communicate. I utilize this to build trust with your pet based on what they need, whether that be snuggles, exercise, games, or space. Nothing feels more amazing than earning the trust of an animal, and building a new relationship with them.
Yoga and meditation teacher training have contributed to the sense of conscious calm and peaceful energy I bring to my time with your pet. This is especially helpful with pets who are fearful or anxious, since our pets often reflect what they feel from us. The work I do is also informed by my behavioral work experience; I make use of light training methods to help with things like excessive barking, leash resistance, pulling, recall, and lack of boundaries. Doing this work with your pets is crucial for safety (e.g. recall and waiting), and also stimulates the brain, which builds confidence, purpose, and enjoyment for your pet.
I am fully insured and bonded through PSA.

We have known Elspeth since 2023 and she has worked with us in training our Brittany, Harper over the past eight months. In addition to the training, Elspeth has taken care of Harper when we are away on a few vacations and when we are away for extended periods during the day by taking her for neighborhood walks. She is a calm, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and responsible individual we trust with our energetic pup.
We highly recommend her for dog sitting, training, and dog walks.
Always a pleasant experience with Elspeth! She is so responsible, caring and very good with our dog Nettle. Takes her for long walks, continues to engage Nettle with training and sends updates once per day. Leaves the house is cleaner condition than it was it when she arrived. Will continue to utilize Elspeth for dog/house sitting whenever possible
Highly recommend Elspeth to care for your pets! We’ve only had family watch our pups and I was anxious about finding someone to trust to take care of them, but from our first meeting it was clear that she would be a great fit. Our dogs are large and one is a big puppy who is still learning personal boundaries but she handled them with ease and we really appreciate Elspeth’s behavioral work with them. She was very communicative and took great care of our home. I will absolutely book Elspeth for future house sitting/pet care.

Elspeth was great, provided lots of pictures and updates! Took my puppy on a few walks a day and made sure she was entertained. Even repaired a few toys that were ripped. Would definitely book her again.

My 15-year-old dacshund has disc disease and has never been left with a stranger before, so I was pretty nervous going into the weekend, but Elspeth did everything she could to make both Auggie and me comfortable during her visit. Her regular texts with photos and videos showed him transition from staring at the door looking for me to happily squeaking his toys. Auggie's bad back means he's not allowed to jump or do stairs so Elspeth had to carry him in and out for breaks and on and off the couch for cuddles. I returned to find him good as new and seemingly looking around for his new friend. I'd highly recommend Elspeth for any dog, but especially for those needing a little more TLC.
Elspeth was the best dog and housesitter I have ever had. She is so caring with the dogs and so conscientious; she took copious notes when I was explaining how my dogs need to be fed.
